Our History
EVS Metal was founded in 1994 by Joe Amico and Scott Berkowitz with a specific mission: to provide industrial rackmount enclosures for the rapidly growing PC market.
Operating out of a modest 5,000 sq ft facility in New Jersey, the company quickly discovered a broader market thirsting for a fresh approach to metal fabrication — one built on genuine end-to-end manufacturing capability rather than piecemeal outsourcing. From that foundation, EVS expanded to serve a wide range of industries including consumer electronics, computers, telecommunications, medical devices, semiconductors, gaming, power backup, audio/video, and oil and gas.
Expansion: Building a National Footprint
Ultimately, what drove that growth wasn’t just technical capability — it was a company-wide strategy combining LEAN manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and a genuine commitment to customer relationships that resulted in strong retention and the kind of long-term OEM partnerships that define the business today. From there, EVS embarked on a strategic expansion, first establishing key regional facilities and then continually investing in their growth:
New Jersey (1994)
EVS was born in a modest 5,000 sq ft New Jersey facility, and the Garden State has remained its home ever since. In 2013, EVS dramatically enhanced its home base operations, relocating from the original site to a vastly expanded 71,000 sq ft headquarters and manufacturing facility in Riverdale.
Texas (2001)
EVS extended its reach to Pflugerville, TX, outside of Austin, establishing a hub for precision fabrication with specialized finishing capabilities including #8 mirror finish stainless steel, a full-service CNC machine shop, and the capacity for complex welded assemblies and frames. A major expansion commenced with a groundbreaking in 2024 at an entirely new nearby location, completing in March 2026 and bringing the Texas facility to approximately 90,000 sq ft — nearly tripling its manufacturing footprint to better serve the rapidly growing American South and beyond.
New Hampshire (2008)
EVS Metal’s Keene, New Hampshire facility serves OEM production programs across New England and beyond — including Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, and upstate New York. The facility runs a full-service contract manufacturing operation covering precision sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, certified welding, large part forming and electromechanical assembly, all under one greatly-expanded roof. In 2026, NH underwent an expansion that nearly doubled its footprint to 58,000 sq ft of modern manufacturing and fabrication space.
Pennsylvania (2011)
EVS opened an initial facility in East Stroudsburg, PA to meet the needs of industries including lighting, construction, and solar. In 2022, that facility relocated just down the road to Stroudsburg, PA and underwent a major expansion, substantially upgrading capabilities with a cutting-edge CNC machine shop, ultra-precise laser tube cutting, a third Amada EMZRT turret punch press, large-part forming and a third automated powder coating line, with 92,000 sq ft of fabrication and manufacturing space.
This ongoing investment in facilities, technology, and specialized capabilities across the country underscores our unwavering commitment to innovation, precision, and complete customer satisfaction across North America. Today, EVS Metal operates more than 300,000 sq ft of manufacturing space across four facilities, with several hundred employees and the depth of capability and customer relationships that only more than three decades in the precision sheet metal fabrication business can build..
