STANDARDS & CERTIFICATIONS

Our Manufacturing Standards

At EVS Metal, we prioritize precision in every aspect of our manufacturing processes. When specific tolerances aren’t provided, we apply our industry-standard tolerances to ensure a high level of quality. These tolerances are achievable through our regular manufacturing methods, and while they may not be the tightest we can achieve, they align with recognized industry practices and norms. We may occasionally specify that a quotation is based on these standards when a print’s tolerance cannot be met using our standard processes. Please note that the addition of secondary processes like reaming, machining, or hard tooling can enhance tolerances but may impact costs.

For critical tolerances that are vital to your project’s success, we encourage you to inform us upon placing an order. Our engineering department will thoroughly evaluate these design specifications for manufacturability.

Rest assured, unless we receive specific contrary instructions, all dimensions and tolerances are applied before finishing. To facilitate seamless collaboration, we prefer receiving solid model formats in the following order of preference: Solidworks (.SLDPRT, .SLDASM), Pro-E (.PRT, .ASM), Parasolid, STEP, IGES.

Precision is our commitment, and we’re here to ensure your projects meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

ITAR Registration

EVS Metal proudly operates an ITAR-registered manufacturing facility in Pflugerville, Texas, just outside Austin, showcasing our commitment to serving the defense industry.

ITAR registration is granted by the U.S. State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), ensuring compliance with U.S. Government requirements for manufacturers, exporters, and brokers of defense articles, services, or technical data. This registration empowers EVS to bid on and manufacture defense articles for the United States Government and its authorized subcontractors.

“At EVS Metal, we take pride in contributing to our government’s defense manufacturing needs,” says Joe Amico, EVP and co-founder of EVS Metal. “Our work has a purpose beyond ourselves, and that’s truly rewarding.”

Enacted during the Cold War in 1976, ITAR serves as a vital tool for the U.S. Government to track companies involved in specific manufacturing and exporting activities. While ITAR regulations encompass various manufacturing aspects, the key directive mandates that all information and materials related to U.S. defense and military technologies are exclusively shared with U.S. Persons, unless explicitly authorized by the Department of State.

At EVS Metal, we embrace our role in supporting our nation’s defense efforts, ensuring that our operations align seamlessly with ITAR regulations to protect and advance our country’s security interests.

Quality

Our corporate quality control system is registered to the ISO 9001:2015 standard. We have cultivated a culture dedicated to continuous improvement, which enables us to consistently fabricate and finish metal parts and products of the highest quality. Our computerized quality records provide traceability and accountability. Utilizing Amada FabriVISION software to scan and accurately inspect flat parts along with other advanced technologies has enabled us to become a dock-to-stock vendor for many of our customers, a testament to the quality and integrity of our products.

CERTIFICATIONS

UL-Certified Type 1 508A Enclosures

EVS Metal’s NJ facility is authorized to design and build UL-Certified Type 1 508A Enclosures. View the industrial standards here.

This capability allows our clients to authorize EVS Metal to custom fabricate new enclosures that are UL certified. Rather than being forced to choose from pre-fabricated, off-the-shelf enclosures to ensure UL certification, they may instead collaborate with our engineering team to design the exact size and configuration required without being constrained by what is currently in stock from companies with certified product lines.
