EVS Metal Named to “The Fabricator” Magazine’s “Fab 40” for 11th Year

EVS Metal Fabrication Fab 40 2020 Honor

For the 11th consecutive year, EVS Metal, an American precision sheet metal fabricator of complex machined steel and aluminum, has been named to The Fabricator magazine’s Fab 40. The Fabricator is the leading publication for the metal fabrication industry and EVS is proud to have made its Fab 40 list since its inception.

RIVERDALE, N.J, June 18th, 2020: EVS Metal (https://www.evsmetal.com) has been named a Fab 40 metal fabricator for the 11th consecutive year by The Fabricator magazine. As in previous years, EVS is the only sheet metal fabricator in the Tri-State area (New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut) to make the prestigious list.

Fabricating a Safer World

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented massive challenges to both the metal fabrication companies and their employees. Because EVS Metal’s four metal fabrication facilities (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas and New Hampshire) all produce medical devices, the company is categorized as an essential business by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS’s) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). From the first days of the crisis through today, EVS has not only remained open but has been fortunate to serve customers producing critical — even life-saving — products. This includes many items that have a role in treating people infected with COVID-19 (such as ventilators), support researchers in finding a cure, and assist in the development and manufacture of potential vaccines.

Investing in Fabrication Automation

In early July, EVS Metal’s Austin, Texas metal fabrication facility will take delivery of one of the most advanced horizontal milling centers (HMCs) on the market: the Haas EC-400 with pallet pool. This latest machine acquisition is just one of several substantial capital investments EVS Metal has made over the past 18 months, including a second Amada EM 3612 ZRT turret punch press and a Direct Color Systems 7200z direct-to-substrate inkjet printer for EVS New Jersey, and an ENSIS-Series 3015 3KW fiber laser for EVS Texas. All of these purchases serve to demonstrate EVS’s commitment to ensuring their metal fabrication facilities are equipped with the most advanced technology available with which to serve their customers.

Providing Leadership in Metal Fabrication, and in Local Communities

EVS Metal was again able to publish a featured article in The Fabricator, this time spotlighting some of the employees that make the company the success that it is, and giving them the chance to share their stories. Additionally, EVS’s four facilities across the U.S. continued to give back to their local communities in a number of ways:

  • EVS Metal PA’s leadership reaffirmed their commitment to S.T.E.M education via their second annual grant to the National Museum of Industrial History’s (NMIH) Future Innovators Fund
  • EVS Metal NJ acted as the title (“bib”) sponsor for the St. Joseph’s Health Golf Classic
  • The NJ facility donated time and materials to assist Columbia University students in fabricating precision metal parts for their student race car club — officially known as Knickerbocker Motorsports (Columbia FSAE)
  • EVS TX again sponsored a college scholarship for a deserving student via a program run by the Rotary Club of Pflugerville

Metal Fabricators: Resilient in the Face of Crisis

The Fabricator’s annual Fab 40 coverage always includes an overview of the metal fabrication industry as a whole. This year they summed up the state of the industry with an article entitled “Metal fabricators show resiliency in crisis,” which outlined the ways fabricators have managed to cope with multiple challenges, from the effects of President Trump’s trade war to the COVID-19 pandemic. Senior Editor Tim Heston recapped it up succinctly:

“The long-term outlook remains bright, with positive projections for 2021 and beyond. COVID-19 might fundamentally change certain areas of the U.S. economy, but the contract metal fabrication business—ever diverse and agile—probably won’t be one of them.”

EVS Metal is no exception to this trend. With 2020 revenue still expected to increase, and additional plans to expand facilities with investment in new machines and skilled personnel, continuing growth is nearly certain across all four of EVS’s U.S. locations through this decade, and beyond.
