Position Summary:
Responsible for producing machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine while maintaining quality and safety standards
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficient in machine operation
- Loads raw materials and unloads completed parts
- Required to operate multiple machines simultaneously
- Performs inspection of own parts and co-worker’s work
- Follows instructions when selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures
- Uses measurement tools i.e. digital calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Adjusts tooling & work offsets minor editing of current program
- Able to run select machines in department
- Able to make adjustments to assure dimensions, tolerances and quality of parts
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment including top-off lubricants
- Cleaning responsibilities including equipment, chip removal, and work area
- Follows established procedures as well as quality and safety standards
- Maintains safe work environment
- Works under supervision
- Other tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Solid working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, basic math and measuring instruments
- Basic understanding of programming codes
- Good understanding of machining practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Motivated with a willingness to learn
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- MUST BE ABLE TO PROGRAM WITH MASTERCAM
